1. When you are sad,

I will jump on the person

            Who made you sad

            Like a spider monkey

              Jacked up on Mountain Dew!!!

            2. When you are blue,

             I will try to dislodge

               Whatever is choking you..

           3. When you smile,

             I will know you are

             Plotting something

That I must be involved in.

          4. When you're scared,

We will high tail it out of here.

  5. When you are worried,

    will tell you horrible stories

                 about how much worse

 It could be until you

 Quit whining, ya big baby!!!!

6. When you are confused,

I will use little words..

7. When you are sick,

Stay away from me

Until you are well again.

I don't want whatever you have....

8. When you fall,

I'll pick you up

And dust you off--

After I laugh my rear off!!

9. This is my oath.....

I pledge it to the end.

'Why?' you may ask;

-- because you are my FRIEND!

********************

Friendship is like peeing your pants,

Everyone can see it,

But only YOU

 Can feel the True warmth...

We are slowly running out of more styles .

Already we have no China Cat, Terrapin and Lazy Lightning styles

and are out of colors in the Dark Star, Miracle and Jack Straw.

It's important for you to all understand that this was Jerry Garcia's last project - they were manufactured in 1995 and gone through several owners before they came to me.

It is pure magic that any survived at all.

When they are gone they are gone like Jerry is gone...

They are not making more of them.

Not only are they very high quality - unique and sturdy but they are also a piece of history and destined to be worth a whole heck of a lot more than their original price.

I have one of each put aside as collectors items and I'm not alone...several folks have bought complete sets but we are in the minority ensuring the value will simply hit the roof as others destroy their pairs one by one.

I realize they were made to be worn and it's hard to resist once you've worn them out of doors as the lenses in each and every pair are freaking AMAZING but the better care you take with your pair the longer they'll last. And who knows? Your pair may turn out in 2020 to be the rarest pair on Earth!

So as the 'holidays' approach

remember your favorite hippy, Dead Head or sunglass enthusiest

Time to Get The Children Immunized Already!!

Looky, looky, at what Mr. Olbermann pointed out this evening....

The fellow that is responsible for the widespread panic over vaccinated children getting autism has been found to be groundless...It's time to take the kids in and get them some protection. Finally~

Here is a little bitty bit of information:

"However, our investigation, confirmed by evidence presented to the General Medical Council (GMC), reveals that: In most of the 12 cases, the children’s ailments as described in The Lancet were different from their hospital and GP records. Although the research paper claimed that problems came on within days of the jab, in only one case did medical records suggest this was true, and in many of the cases medical concerns had been raised before the children were vaccinated. Hospital pathologists, looking for inflammatory bowel disease, reported in the majority of cases that the gut was normal. This was then reviewed and the Lancet paper showed them as abnormal.

Many parents may not have realized the anecdotal nature of the paper.  Wakefield used an incredibly small sample, from only one clinic, did no other studies, and yet reached conclusions that apparently satisfied the Lancet well enough to publish the paper. "

And of course, the link to get to the entire article.

Here ia another excerpt from another article on another website...it , too is a link to the entire page.

Currently, Wakefield has three accusations against him, all of which he denies. The charges consist of unnecessary procedures performed on children, coordinating with autism litigators, and taking blood from children at a birthday party. It is clear that that this examination of Dr. Wakefield is well deserved. Most importantly, we hope that this raises the eyebrows of those so quick to point a finger at vaccines. Those who have examined the issue without Wakefield's biases -- using good science, with no conflict of interest -- have found no link between MMR vaccination and autism.

Roy C Smith - Greed is Good

Here first off, is the link to Mr. Smith's Wall Street Journal Article.

I cannot believe the sorry state our country is in. Banks are asking our government for bailout money and then using that money to award bonuses to employees. Mr. Smith seems to feel that this is necessary to stimulate our economy.

Now the people that have driven our economy into the ground are upset that they will not be getting their bonuses this year. Where I come from (America) a bonus is something that is awarded to you for doing a good job. A bonus is not something you're supposed to 'expect'. It's an award...kind of like the trophy each and every child now gets when playing sports. We're setting them up to continue this same stupidity later in life. Not everyone wins an award. Not everyone gets a bonus. Only the best of the best get the bonus. Only the winner gets the trophy.

What is wrong with these people?

Since eBay's Demise...

There was a time a couple of years back when you'd use a search engine and most of your results were eBay listings. From 2002 until just last February I would actually search eBay first.  It had gotten to the point where it offered the best selection of items...sometimes they'd even have an offering that was better than my wholesale connections.

Last February I was part of the largest eBay 'walk-out' in history. Probagly the largest en masse movement of peoples on the web since its inception. Since then eBay listings don't seem to come up in searches as prolificly as in the past.

They decided you see, that they would no longer allow the seller to leave negative feedback for the buyer, but that the buyer could not only leave negative for the seller, they'd be offered gift certificates for doing so...by eBay. Along with that, sellers receiving negative feedback (and 2 could be enough to affect me) would lose points and when those points were low enough, the sellers payment would be held in paypal and not released until the buyer left positive feedback. I've had buyers never receive their product and not respond to emails. I've had buyers refuse to leave feedback. They'll respond to my email with a positive email no matter how many times I explain that it needs to be left in the eBay system itself to matter. In that case, I'd never be paid!

The Anti-eBay Union on Delphi Forums was a great idea, but unfortunately they would not listen to me when choosing which new auction site to go to. They chose 3 instead of one which further splintered our numbers giving us less power to draw an audience of consumers. I am trying to sell on the main one, OLA , better known as OnlineAuction.com. I've had 10 auctions up for a few days with a couple people that looked. Not very promising. Could be my timing, though. I'll place some more after the December holidays and see if anyone bites.

So here I sit...another eBay refugee working on their own website trying to figure out how to attract people to it. I'm always first or second in the google/yahoo rankings if you search for my Dead sunglasses. I'll just have to do more blogging and advertisement in order to educate the consumer that this product even exists!

A new kind of website

Posted by Jerry Garcia Sunglasses / Grateful Dead Sunglasses on December 20, 2008 at 4:23 PM Comments comments (0)

When people come to my store...my 'brick n mortar'...we get the time to talk....I get to help them choose the 'perfect pair' of sunglasses. It's a difficult aspect to incorporate into a website.

What we hope to offer here is a place to hang out. Play some games, chat with each other. Drop off ideas in the forum for public consumption and debate. Stop back by and see what mayhem or joy you have inspired by doing so. A place for the kids of the 60's and 70's to find killer gifts for those of 'like mind'.

Those members that choose to 'hang out' here, we get to know a little bit better. It helps to personalize your free gifts. There are many more that are not on the website yet. We are still in the 'birthing' stage so you'll see a lot of changes in the next couple monthes. You can be a big part of those changes with your input.

You'll see some items that are 'on sale'. All items are on sale. They all cost more in my store. What I've tried to do is to lower the price to you, our online friends, so that shipping becomes part of the price. In most cases when you add the cost of the sunglasses to the shipping, they are still less than in my store.

As a member you could take it a step further. If you are ordering multiple items, I can respond to your email with a direct bill from PayPal right to your inbox. This way I can reduce the shipping cost for you. Kind of like your own personal auction...we barter as well so email and maybe we can do a deal!

When you deal with Uncle Jeffreys Roadside Circus, you deal with two people... not a whole warehouse full of people to blame for mistakes!

There is a new website out there with a great selection of sunglasses.

They have a great assortment of Aviators and Wayfarers as well as the 'inspired by’ types that are just a fraction of the cost of a real Dior, Baby Phat or Vuitton.

You'll also find Lamborghini and DKNY as well as Donna Karan for sale at less than 1/4 of their original price..they have the real cases, cleaning cloths, paperwork...Impress your friends

It gets even better when you find out they’re having a huge sale right now.

$10 off a $50 purchase

$20 off $100 purchase

$35 off $150 purchase

 $45 off $200 purchase

So head on over and check them out

And they even send free gifts with every order

Buying Sunglasses Online

Posted by Jerry Garcia Sunglasses / Grateful Dead Sunglasses on December 20, 2008 at 1:17 AM Comments comments (0)

I always found it strange that a person could buy a pair of glasses without trying them.

It must be the same people that come in my store in the summer and every single pair they try on looks good. It happens more often than you'd think, too.

There are basically only so many types of faces and so many kinds of sunglass shapes, so once you've found that 'perfect pair' it's easy to stay within those boundries and shop online. You don't have to be the person who looks good in anything. You just have to recognize the shape of your favorite pair and go from there!

First recognize what shape face you have:

  • Oval face shape: The length of your face is equal to one and a half times its width.
  • Oblong face shape: Your face is longer than one and a half times its width with a narrow chin.
  • Round face shape: Your face is shorter than one and a half times its width with rounded cheekbones.
  • Rectangular face shape: Same as oblong, but forehead and chin are about as wide.
  • Square face shape: Your face has equally wide forehead and chin but is shorter than one and a half times the width.
  • Heart face shape: Your face is narrow at the jaw line but wide at the cheekbones and/or forehead - just like a heart

The general rule is to choose a frame that offsets the shape of your face.

  • Oval: Any frame shape looks good on you, but be careful with the size.
  • Oblong: Round or triangular shapes.
  • Round: Wide and rectangular frames.
  • Rectangular/Square: Wide and rounded frames.
  • Heart: Any shape will do, but avoid frames that are wider at the top than the bottom.

If you have a delicate face, try finding a rimless frame.

Now it's time to go shopping at the best place online..amazing selection...a little bit of everything and more added almost every day.

Lobster ~ Lobster ~ Lobster

Letting you all know that the lobster fishermen up here in Maine are closer and closer to not being so any longer without your help.

Lobster fishermen are getting little over half the price for their catch as last year.

Can you imagine your paycheck being cut almost in half?

People are losing their boats...their homes...

Lobster is VERY INEXPENSIVE because of this.

Do NOT feel like a traitor for purchasing lobster at insanely low prices. It's the only way to help drive the price back up just a little bit.
